What exactly is speaking in tongues? Why must we receive it? And what is the precise standard for tongues? There are many times when we question whether the tongues being practiced today—such as the “woo~ woo” sounds like a fox crying, the “shhh~ shhh” sounds like a snake hissing, or phrases like “lalala,” “lululu,” which feel eerie and repulsive to hear—are truly the authentic tongues of Christ. Some people have tongues that move inside their mouths as if blowing a whistle, or they produce trembling, rattling sounds like a motorcycle engine, or they repeatedly utter strange words like “warakara,” “sandarabia,” “wikentuntu,” in a loud, chaotic, grotesque manner—so confusing that one can’t help but question if this is truly the genuine gift of tongues from God.

Even in human languages, there are many words and a vast vocabulary. So how could it be that just a few repeated syllables, interpreted differently, constitute the heavenly language of God’s kingdom? If the sounds uttered by countless believers—like “lalala,” “shh shh shh,” or “drrrr”—are considered the language of heaven and of angels, it feels odd and even impure to call such things the tongue of God’s kingdom. From my understanding, it’s hard to believe that God’s heavenly language could be reduced to just a single meaningless syllable and still be used for full communication. So what truly are the standards and characteristics of the genuine tongues of Christ? And how can we accurately distinguish between true and false tongues?

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.(1 Corinthians 14 : 22~25)

Speaking in tongues is a sign for unbelievers. For believers, the sign is prophecy. Yet today, many churches and pastors treat tongues as if it were the definitive proof of receiving the Holy Spirit. But in truth, according to the Bible, tongues are a sign given to unbelievers. In other words, it is given to those who do not have true faith in the love of the cross and Christ, so that they may come to believe fully in the living God.

In today’s Christianity, no one provides a clear, authoritative standard or teaching that defines true tongues of Christ. The reason for this is that churches and believers are being led by those who lack the ability to truly discern, who lack prophecy, power, and true tongues. As a result, many use detestable satanic tongues to make it seem as though their members and congregations are spiritually gifted. These false, magical tongues of Satan, which oppose God, are widespread in today’s corrupted faith. This writing, by the grace of God, is to reveal this reality and make known the true standard of genuine tongues.

God, who is the root and source of love, created all things—His Word, truth, Sabbath, sacred days, tithes and offerings, faith, hope, love, shepherds, apostles, gifts, and prayer—for the sake of forming His children into His glorious image through salvation. In order for humans to become children of God, they must possess a divine nature that resembles Him. All ideals, values, and truths are given for this purpose. God is the root and source of love. To lead all people to salvation, He sent the love of the cross—because this love is the nature of God, His perfection, His covenant, the path we must walk, the truth, and the life. Therefore, faith, the Sabbath, hope, love, spiritual gifts, shepherds, apostles, and prayer all exist to help us form within our hearts the love of the cross that resembles God and is fitting for salvation.

What, then, is the true purpose of prayer?

It is only this: that we practice the love of the cross in order to form the divine nature (the temple of the heart) that resembles God and leinads to salvation. Thus, to truly pray according to the will of God, we must intercede for the tears and pain of the poor and suffering neighbors, and seek healing for our own weakness and shame, so that we may become complete children of God. That is the true purpose of prayer.

However, setting aside this deep grace and holy will of God, people today attempt to serve both God and the world, and both God and material wealth. Because of these disgraceful teachings and learnings, they produce nothing but sin and greed—offering only corrupt, worldly, self-centered prayers driven by their own desires, satisfaction, and cravings. This is what has led to the widespread operation of satanic tongues in today’s reality.

Those who seek worldly things are met by the god of this world; those who seek material wealth are met by the god of materialism; those who seek lust and desire are misled by the spirits of lust and flesh—disguising themselves as Christ or angels, and leading people in false prayers through satanic tongues.

The behaviors and characteristics of those who pray in satanic tongues

These are no different from the actions of shamans or spirit mediums who summon evil spirits. If you see it for yourself, their convulsive, disturbing, even repulsive movements during prayer are horrifying. At least once, anyone witnessing such displays must question, “Is this truly the prayer of Christ? Are these the true tongues and spiritual gifts of Christ that come from peace and depth?” Many who themselves pray in such ways also harbor doubts. This is happening because deceitful shepherds, who care only about their own fullness and selfish gain, are leading people to seek worldly things even more. As a result, more and more believers are using satanic tongues influenced by the god of this world. This terrible trend is being encouraged within churches, by pastors and fellow believers alike, reaching a miserable conclusion.

Despite the countless books written on faith, gifts, and tonguesnumbering in the thousands or even millionsand despite the endless number of pastors and theological scholars, the truth is that very few can rightly discern and teach about satanic tongues versus true tongues. Instead, we are witnessing an era in which satanic tongues are being endorsed and taught, confirming that many churches, pastors, and believers are inevitably headed toward destruction in these last days. Today, satanic tongues disguised as Christ’s are increasingly being legitimized. The reality is that these tongues and magical incantations are spreading widely under the pretense of being spiritual.

The reality of satanic tongues among many believers today

Those who speak in satanic tongues behave in ways identical to shamans and spirit mediums summoning evil spirits. The fundamental reason is that they are attempting to serve God while also serving the world and material things. Thus, the gods of this world and of wealth come upon them. In other words, their faith, their religion, their Christ, their God, and their prayers are nothing more than tools used to satisfy their worldly desires, pleasures, and ambitions. And so, the ones leading such prayers are not God, not Christ, not angels—but the gods of this world: Satan and demons disguised as divine. Many believers today think that simply praying in the name of the cross, or in the name of God or Christ, guarantees that God or Christ hears and answers their prayers. But in reality, God does not hear or respond to corrupt prayers that stem from selfish desires, satisfaction, and worldly cravings. Only prayers that follow the love of the cross, forming a heart that resembles God and leads to salvation, will God acknowledge and answer. All other corrupt prayers are clearly regarded as sin.

And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him. And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.(1 Kings 22 : 21~22)(2 Chronicles 18 : 20~22)

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.(2 Corinthians 11 : 13~15)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;(1 Timothy 4 : 1~2)

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.(2 Corinthians 4 : 4)

For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts. Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.(Isaiah 9 : 13~17)

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.(1 John 4 : 1~8)

God considers it sin when people offer vain prayers—seeking worldly and fleshly things—because they do not keep His command not to pray such reckless prayers.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.(Exodus 20 : 7)

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.(Deuteronomy 5 : 11)

I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.(Zechariah 5 : 4)

And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart; And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.(1 Samuel 12 : 20~21)

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.(1 Corinthians 10 : 23~24)

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.(1 Corinthians 10 : 31~33)

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.(Mattthew 6 : 31~33)

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;(Ephesians 5 : 1~3)

The true tongues of Christ can never be found in those who pursue selfish desires, personal satisfaction, or fleshly cravings. Even if they appear to have it, those who continue to seek worldly desires, satisfaction, and cravings will either lose it altogether or, without realizing it, have their tongues turn into satanic tongues. True tongues of Christ appear in those who do not seek their own benefit or greed, and especially in those who intercede for their brothers and neighbors. However, even though I have listened for over ten years, I have seen and heard only a handful who possess genuine tongues. Yet even this is by no means a sign of salvation.

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.(1 Corinthians 14 : 22)

Today, many churches, pastors, and believers treat speaking in tongues as if it were the sign or evidence of having received the Holy Spirit. However, in reality, tongues are a sign for unbelievers—a gift given to help them come to faith. But because those who possess satanic tongues of pride claim that tongues are proof and evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit, more and more churches—operating under the influence of prideful spirits—are becoming corrupted. They increasingly promote a forced, counterfeit version of the Holy Spirit, a false rebirth, and detestable gifts not found in the Word. This is the present reality of the Roman Church and Christianity today. Tongues are the most basic gift given to help unbelievers come to believe. Through tongues, one learns and grows in revelation, wisdom, prophecy, and interpretation.

True tongues of Christ, developed over years, manifest in twelve distinct languages, each with unique characteristics—some are beautiful, others strong, others gentle, and all sound clear and pure. To the listener, it may resemble French, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, or other earthly languages, but it is more powerful, more tender, and more beautiful than any human language. Within these twelve kinds of tongues is a kind of spiritual wall—a protective barrier that cuts off everything worldly and fleshly, like laying the foundation stones in the building of a temple. This prayer continues throughout one’s life, often lasting more than 14 hours, or at least over 7 hours. It is a powerful form of prayer that cannot be mimicked by will alone. As the prayer builds like a spiritual fortress in the heart, it becomes the foundation for other spiritual gifts—reaching into knowledge, wisdom, mysteries, revelation, interpretation, and prophecy. Tongues are the root gift for all such powers.

Unlike satanic tongues, which are limited to a few meaningless, repetitive sounds that no one can understand, true tongues are not vain repetitions. The excuse that “we are like children learning slowly, step by step” does not apply here. From the beginning, there is a deep, urgent power like fire resting on the lips, enabling one to pray for tens of hours. There are even cases where people continue speaking in tongues in their sleep. Those who spend years repeating only a few incomprehensible syllables are practicing 100% satanic tongues. This happens because they are driven solely by their own selfish desires. Such tongues betray the holy will and deep grace of God and disgrace the precious love and sacrifice of the cross. They are the product of those who seek only their worldly desires, satisfactions, and cravings.

….He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?(1 Corinthians 14 : 1~6)

True Tongues of Christ appear in those who strive to unite with the love of the cross—loving by feeding, giving, and caring for others—those who cherish, serve, and care for one another. It absolutely does not manifest in those who chase only their worldly desires, personal satisfaction, and carnal cravings. True tongues of Christ flow constantly in daily life, and as prayer accumulates, greater gentleness, gratitude, joy, and peace increasingly fill the heart through this gift.

Tongues are not a sign of salvation. It is merely a foundational gift, a very basic stage in the process of spiritual maturity. Therefore, to claim that receiving tongues means one has received the Holy Spirit is to insult the holy nature of God. Those who say they have been reborn through tongues yet continually fall back into sin—repeating sinful habits even while regretting—prove through their actions that they have not truly been born again. Yet they claim rebirth out of pride and delusion, which is a false rebirth influenced by spirits of pride and deception—a counterfeit Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the very nature of God who loves all people, and the love of the cross is a love that sacrifices all. Any gift, power, tongue, or prayer that does not bring forth the nature of God—His love, mercy, gentleness, peace, goodness, joy, self-control, patience, and obedience—is to be rejected. It is a profane and vain gift, power, tongue, or prayer inevitably influenced by Satan and demons.

God is love. God created humanity and gave us His Word, the Sabbath, tithes and offerings, worship, faith, hope, love, prayer, shepherds, and spiritual gifts for one reason: to instill in us His loving nature so that we may become His children. Therefore, any value, logic, or ideal that lacks the love of the cross or fails to unite with it is nothing but sorcery, divination, a false spirit, forced rebirth, false prophecy, or unclean gift orchestrated by Satan and demons.

These manifestations are completely different from anything found in the examples of Scripture. Instead, they resemble the behaviors and signs seen among shamans and spirit mediums. This is because they are driven by worldly and fleshly spirits. Those who speak satanic tongues exhibit traits no different from shamans summoning their spirits. Why, then, are tongues treated as proof of the Holy Spirit today? It is because today’s pastors do not possess true prophecy. And without prophecy, there can be no true anointing. In order to justify their false prophecies, they have made tongues seem like the Holy Spirit and use it as proof to convince believers that they have received the Spirit. Thus, tongues have become a false spirit and a counterfeit anointing.

Because of those who attempt to serve both God and the world, or God and material wealth, satanic and demonic tongues have become rampant. Those who serve God alongside the world inevitably become entangled in repeated cycles of sin and repentance. They have gradually dulled the conscience to sin, turning excuses and justifications—born of a compromised conscience—into what they call ‘the Word’ and ‘faith.’ These misguided believers fall into vain tongues, influenced by sorcery and divination.
